PRESS RELEASE

Geneva, Switzerland – It is with great pleasure that Artvera’s announces the opening of its extraordinary charity exhibition “Just Art”. From June 12th until September 12th 2015, this exhibition will bring together for the first time Russian and Ukrainian artists who through their works offer intimate insight into their personal histories, ways of thinking and individual experiences relating to the political developments of the past years.

Recent events that have had great impact on Ukraine - such as the Maidan protests in Kyiv, the annexation of Crimea and the change of government - are recurring subjects in the artists’ works that reveal the harsh and complex reality of everyday life. Ukrainian artists who have been invited to participate in the exhibition come from different parts of the country including Kyiv, Odessa, Zaporozyhe and Donetsk. All proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Ukrainian families in need.

Artvera’s director Sofia Komarova explained, ”I am proud that we have managed to put this very special exhibition together. Russian and Ukrainian contemporary artists are largely unknown to the international public. With this show, we hope to shed light on the artistic scene, create a dialogue and most importantly help to benefit the people in Ukraine who are suffering from this conflict.”
